Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the use of atraumatic needles inserted into a muscle, tendon or joint to stimulate the balance and flow of Qi energy. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body is considered healthy when Qi flows smoothly through the meridians throughout the entire body. When the balance of Qi is obstructed it may be diseased or susceptible to illness. Acupuncture treats both the symptoms and the root cause of the illness. In North America, Acupuncture is often used when western medicine has failed. In Western Medicine, the Yin/Yang balance it achieves is known as homeostasis.

How Can Acupuncture Help You?

Acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins (the body’s natural pain-relieving neurohormones) through the insertion of needles into specific anatomical (acupuncture points) points to encourage natural healing. Acupuncture is a safe and effective alternative to medication and surgery that can provide the following therapeutic effects:

  • Pain relief
  • Increased blood flow to promote healing of damaged muscles and joints
  • Increased energy
  • Improved mood
  • Improved body function
